Job Description Summary

About the Role
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic works within a facility management organization that provides a variety of operation and maintenance services within a 24/7/365 environment that includes non-critical data environments and commercial office space. This position is responsible for the delivery of all contracted facility management services at the client location. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Managing customer relationships, coordinating third party service, directing assigned C&W employees in day-to-day assignments, performing assigned maintenance tasks, and assisting with site level administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Must be able to work in a collaborative / safety conscious environment. “Safety First Mentality.” Lead, promote, and train staff to work safe throughout the facility and complete all safety training on time.
  • Lead by example with a “Can Do, get it done” attitude.
  • Utilizes a superior skill set to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. These systems include but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), switchgear, PDUs, electric panels, air compressors, generators, pumps, plumbing system components, lighting, and electrical systems,
  • Lead and train staff in the performance of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments, and installations on switchgears, PDUs, and other electrical equipment.
  • Provide professional articulated communication with client point of contacts by scheduling regular meetings as needed to keep the greater audience informed.
  • Perform routine safety audits and compliance inspections
  • Manage the parts and materials inventory process
  • Manage subcontractor use and serve as the single point of contact for the site as needed.
  • Manage the overall work order system for the site to ensure use by staff, compliance, and information retention.
  • Responds to building system alarms to limit operation disruptions, minimize equipment or system damage, and participates in root cause analysis process
  • Report all potential system/equipment problems to management and client POC immediately
  • Support and drive cleaning schedules throughout client properties
  • Maintain and repair foam board walls throughout data centers as required and requested to support ongoing client initiatives.
  • Must have flexibility in schedule to accommodate client’s needs. Some overtime is required. Schedule to be between 7am to 6pm.
  • Must be willing to perform all tasks assigned to include cleaning restrooms, floors, and grounds cleanup.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or trade specific license
  • 7 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment
  • 5 years of experience leading/supervising maintenance operations
  • 7 years working with 480v electrical systems to include switchgear and PDU maintenance and installations
  • 5 years of CMMS (computer maintenance management systems)
  • Must possess a valid driver license, pass a criminal background, pass a drug screen, and MVR check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or vocational school degree with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • High and medium voltage experience
  • 7 years working with maintenance and repairs to power distribution systems
  • Vendor and subcontract management experience

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, hot(summertime) and cold(wintertime) conditions, and loud noises
  • Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing the appropriate or required PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
  • Must be able to work at heights and on scissor lifts, boom lifts.
